Typography Project - Labyrinth
Brief - Create an artefact to celebrate a typeface & design an accompanying type specimen for your typeface.
Labyrinth / Λαβύρινθος is a typeface designed by me inspired by various
geometric typefaces. It’s available in English and Greek, including numerals and some punctuation.
geometric typefaces. It’s available in English and Greek, including numerals and some punctuation.
The typeface follows a specific set of rules:
• The letters and numerals must be made in a 7 x 9 grid
• Must be made of unclosed lines
• Gaps must be the size of one square
While making the typeface difficult to read, that was intentional, the labyrinthine layout makes this typeface most suitable as a display typeface and as a tool to design with in itself.

Accompanied with a type specimen, in the form of a Posterzine, in Greek and English. With handmade woodblocks and prints serving as a homage to Greek mythology and my heritage.
